April 23-27

The optional assignment for periods 1-4-7 is 1-20 page 243. For periods 3-6 it is 1-11 pages 252-253 (due on the last day of the month).

Monday
Students will be constructing rockets. Rockets are due by the end of the day on Friday.

Tuesday
Students will be constructing rockets. Rockets are due by the end of the day on Friday - Hopefully we will launch them next week.

Wednesday
Students will begin watching a video about the "Space Race" and then be given time to put finishing touches on their rockets. If you miss this class, print out this worksheet and watch the first 65 minutes of the video below.

Thursday
We will finish watching the video and then Benson will explain the Apollo missions. If you were gone, watch the video below.

Friday
Benson will have a sub, so students will do a worksheet.

Attention Honors students - To review for the two essay questions, you should watch this short video: The Earthquake/Tsunami of 1700, and read this page Radiocarbon Dating (does not open on mobile devices).

We will review for the test. CLICK HERE to access the Kahoot that we played in class today.

Tuesday
Students will take the test and then start watching a movie called "October Sky".

Wednesday
Benson will explain the historical context of the movie and then we will continue watching it.

Thursday
We will finish the movie.

Friday
Students will begin making rockets (to be continued next week).

Monday
Students will watch a video called "Himalayan Megaquake".

Tuesday
Students will finish the video and then do some epicenter problems. If you were gone, do the "Virtual Earthquake Activity" HERE, print out your answer sheet (or write your answers on your own sheet of paper) and hand it in .

Wednesday
Benson will go over several aspects of earthquakes. If you were gone, watch this video. Also watch this one.

Thursday
Students will take notes on a handout as Benson explains various earthquake hazards. If you were gone, watch this Tsunami Animation and this Tsunami Demonstration (Oregon State Lab).

Friday
Students will take notes as they learn about Montana Earthquakes. If you were gone, get a copy of the handout, copy the notes, and carefully read each of the links below that have an asterisk (*).
